CLOSER COOPERATION: VP IN SINGAPORE -------------------------------------------------- On the 13th, Vice-president Dr. Sai Mauk KHam visited Myanmar embassy in Singapore where the ambassador reported about Myanmar citizens who are pursuing education, issuance of pass port and the assistance provided by the embassy to Myanmar workers. In the evening, he visited the residence of the ambassador and met members of diplomatic mission and charge daffairs office, as well as States scholars fulfilled their needs and wants. He also heard report on construction of a new embassy building. And yesterday, he visited Khoo Teck Puat hospital and observed health care policy of Singapore and cost-sharing health care service system. He also viewed teaching medical subject, room configuration, medicines, medical equipment, management and healthcare services being provided to the senior citizens. In the evening, he met with prime minister Mr. Li Shan Loon and discussed about observation of Singapores Health and Education system, technical cooperation, boosting relations between the leaders and people of the two countries and Singapores assistance for Human Resource Development for the growth of the country. He held a separate meeting with Senior minister Gho Chauk Tong who made constructive suggestions for reform process of Myanmar. The exchanged views on Myanmars political, economic and social reforms in the time of the new government, national re consolidation and economic growth in the future. He later visited Tuas South Incineration plant which generate electricity from the waste discarded by the whole country. It is learnt that the byproduct from the plant are piled in the sea for construction of residences. Officials explained that the technology is eco-friendly.
