CLUB MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS - SEMIS A Grade Mathew Saroufim was defeated by last year’s A reserve champion James Rogers on the 37th hole an Ben Smith won convincingly over Ray Viola 9 & 8. Experience is everything in match play. A Reserve Frankie v Junior (sounds like a title fight) junior won 2 & 1. Andy Craig v Tim Lesina, two of the club’s true gentlemen. Tim won 2up. B Grade Giant killer Peter Murphy v Graham Beames. Beamesy is having a purple patch of form and lead from start to finish 2 & 1. Mathew Kotsakis was too good for Wayne Ellis on the day winning 6 & 5. C Grade The rested or perhaps rusty Noel Jamieson v The Vice-Pres. Noel probability never played a faster game of golf. Dave Bishop came back from 3 down to win 2 & 1. Ice man Jack Waters v Ben Griffith. Jack admitted to not feeling nervous for the first time ever. Ben was playing his 3rd Matchplay game ever and was a bundle of nerves Ben won 3 & 1 go figure.
