CLUB NEWSLETTER - 14th AUGUST SENIOR REPORT - SAT 10th AUGUST Both our top restricted 85kg teams, the Bombers and Raiders will play their final cup round game against each other this weekend to see who will finish top of the round. Also up for grabs is the Speights Shield and the College Rifles Challenge Cup this weekend. Both already qualify for the final next weekend and this week will be a testing game for both sides and a lot of silver wear up for grabs before next week’s big final. The Raiders have an unbeaten winning streak of 49 games and this weekend against our Bombers they will be out to achieve 50 straight wins which is a massive achievement for any Senior Rugby Team in an Auckland Rugby Union competition. Come out and see this great game which will kick off at 2.45pm at College Rifles No 1. Both teams had big wins in the weekend with the Raiders blowing Waitakere off the park with a 42-12 score and the Bombers too strong for Varsity Shooters at Colin Maiden Park with another bonus point win score of 43-5. First grade needs a bonus point win this weekend against Manukau to push them to second place which will place them in the finals against top of the table Teachers Eastern next weekend and would be a re-match of last weekends game when Teachers were too strong and countered well off our mistakes, final score 39-7. CROCs had another draw against Eden Exclusive 20-all.
