CLYDE He had lived in the cold and was so alone He lived in heat still with no home He asked to no one, where will I eat? Would time in this life end with defeat? His body felt weak and sore was his paw Then came this person, a marvel he saw A gift he was given, one from above He was to be taken, he was to be loved When found he was old, when found he was sick This did not matter he was still to be picked That home he had dreamed of, forever was found How sweet was that word, the word did astound His own house he was given, a place he called home Protected from harm, no more would he roam The humans had magic that helped with his health This magic to him was truly his wealth Although for him there would be no cure For the rest of his life he would not be ignored Better he got and a brother he gained In having each other a love they attained The love in this family forever will grow Though Clyde’s time may grow shorter, he still has his glow Clyde, when you’re gone, loved forever you’ll be You’ll be in our hearts, our Clyde we’ll still see You’ll go forward to health and to beauty and more To a Bridge playing games with so many more From there you will watch, you’ll see family grieve You’ll say to their hearts, I did not really leave You watch from above saying please do not cry My life’s been renewed, I’m young and I’m spry I run and I play with those waiting with me Give home to another who has no place to be When your time is over you’ll find me right here This place called the Bridge where there is no fear You’ll see the great Rainbow that guards this grand place A realm of such beauty, a realm full of grace I’ll see you approaching, you’ll call out my name You’ll smile ear to ear, I now can play games We’ll run to each other, I’ll be thanking you still For your loving and caring when on earth I was ill When time comes for that walk, the one over the Bridge The Bridge with the Rainbow that goes over the ridge To peace we will walk, my paw in your hand To a place full of love where this family will land Clyde do not hurry This will wait for you Just come when you’re ready and it is your turn They’ll save you a space, the one you have earned DreamScribe
