CM addresses Peace Conference at Nishter Hall KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the ill conceived policies in past caused decades long unrest and terrorism in our country that was not seriously addressed so far. He said that if the nation is awakened and united after the sacrifice of hundreds of our little angels and their teachers due to Peshawar tragedy then this opportunity must not be spoiled at any cost. Hence he said concrete steps have to be taken for securing borders of the country and evolving independent foreign policy for which national consensus has already been developed. He made cleared that it was quite impossible to completely protect our cities, streets and public installations without securing the borders as terrorists and miscreants found opportunities to enter in public and commit terror and crimes despite all security measures. He was addressing martyred’s peace conference at Nishter Hall Peshawar under the auspices of Jamat-e-Islami (JI). The conference besides JI Central Ameer Sirajul Haq, Provincial Ameer Prof Muhammad Ibrahim, JUI(S) head Maulana Samiul Haq, JUI(F) Secretary General Maulana Gul Naseeb, ANP Secretary General Mian Iftekhar Hussain, PML(N) Secretary General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Hasham Babar (QWP), Maulana Yousaf Shah (JUI-S), Sabir Hussain Awan (JI), Senior Minister for Health Inayatullah and other leaders and workers from various political parties was also attended by some injured children and their parents of terror hit Army Public School in Peshawar incident. Pervez Khattak said that the issue of prolonged and unabated stay of millions of Afghan Refugees needed immediate attention otherwise we could face more APS like tragic incidents. He said that no country in the world could allow such prolong and mismanaged stay of refugees at its soil. He said that it was high time to crush the roots of terrorism by reviewing our foreign policy in larger national interest. He said that we had to change mind of slavery and not to accept external dictation in any shape. The entire nation including the political and military leadership was behind the govt in this regard, he added. Pervez Khattak said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa borders FATA and Afghanistan while unfortunately both such borders are insecure due to free movements on it. He said its simple solution was to revisit the foreign policy and deployment of FC platoons at FATA check posts that would stop infiltration of unwanted elements not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but in the whole country. Similarly he said that repatriation of Afghan Refugees on crash grounds has also become essential. He said KP police has been ordered a crackdown against half million Afghan Refugees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but support of the Federal Government was also direly required. He said that millions of IDPs from NWA and other tribal belt are our distinguished guests who are welcomed by the people and govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and all their needs are properly catered including payment of rents for their homes and other basic necessities. However he said we are also right to remind the Federal Government of its duty that is totally ignored and even a penny is not paid to provincial government in-spite of all its promises and assurances. Chief Minister on apprehensions about crackdown on religious seminaries made clear that he himself attended meeting at Islamabad in this regard and hence he assure and guaranty that the sanctity and respect of Madaris would be maintained at all costs as it played great role in promoting the light of education. He asked for mass awareness about keeping vigil on activities of suspicious elements to check terrorism and social crimes from the society as he said that we are in state of war and had to jointly work to ensure peace in our cities and towns. He said legislation was also being introduced through assembly for this purpose.
