CM condemns Bannu Blast Handout No.2 Peshawar 19, January 2014. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has strongly condemned the tragic terror blast in vehicle of security forces in Bannu and martyrdom of FC Jawans and civilians. He in a message made it clear that targeting the forces and police deputed for security of the country’s frontiers and safety of citizens, meant to weaken the defense of the country and in-securing the people that would not be allowed by any government or nation at any cost. The chief minister prayed for divine peace of the martyred jawans and civilian as well as early recovery of the injured. Pervez Khatak regretted that most of the FC Jawans travelling in the bus were staunch Muslims and were habitual of offering Tahajjud (midnight) prayers. He asked the district administration of Bannu to contact the military authorities to coordinate in rescue works, treatment of the injured and improving the security situation in the area. He proposed joint teams of civil and military forces in the districts adjoining the tribal belt. However he expressed sorrow over the apathy and compromising attitude of federal government on such sensitive matter saying that until and unless we did not identify our enemies and adopt realistic political and diplomatic measures, terrorism could not be eliminated. The chief minister further regretted that the fresh development on part of US government by linking the US Aid with release of our own wanted criminal Shakil Afridi and demand for handing over a member of unfamiliar Kashmir jihadi group namely Qari Saif Ullah Akhtar to US government who was even not in the prison or custody of Pakistani government, were suffice to open our eyes and hence it was proven that the US demands would increase as we accept it one after another just for aid. He said that it was high time for us to formulate our internal and foreign policies as per our own national interests and dignity that included putting a complete halt on US drone attacks so that progress could be made with Taliban on peace talks.
