CNN Digital is hiring! Producer-CNN-CNNgo (144594BR) Duties: CNNgo Digital Producer will participate in creating dynamic new ways to deliver news and content to a multiplatform audience. The CNNgo Digital Producer will be responsible for staying current on both digital and linear newsgathering, interacting with supervisors and show teams to determine how CNN will be covering and presenting the stories of the day and coordinating content curation for both live and recorded CNN programming. The Digital Producer will assist in overseeing day to day product operations and weekend editorial coverage for new CNN digital product. Must manage content flow and ensure integration efforts facilitated between various teams. He/She will work directly with CNN shows, both live and taped programs, to maintain and update a live fast moving rundown while simultaneously delivering appropriate extended content. The CNNgo Digital Producer will also manage story curation to ensure that content is up to all CNN Standards, including but not limited to tone, accuracy, relevance, and with a keen eye towards audience engagement. He/She will also work directly with CNN Digital newsgathering teams to identify and curate content for CNNgo needs. He/She must have an understanding of elements of digital or linear media production including content management system, Photoshop, image sources, video editing and live show rundowns; work with internal & external partners to generate awareness of digital enterprises and content to drive show awareness. The CNNgo Digital Producer will also work on maintaining a current and regularly updated show schedule and management tool. Use multiple audience measurement and analytical tools to support decisions that add value to a product. Must be an effective team leader with strong people management skills and be able to calmly handle breaking news situations across multiple platforms. He/She must be able to adapt to last minute scheduling changes as needed to fit the needs of the business and breaking news. Assist in the coordinating of staff scheduling and programming changes based on PTO, breaking news and CNN Domestic programming changes. Perform daily production duties as needed and exercise quality control over content. This role will be responsible for other duties and projects assigned by management. Qualifications: At least 3-5 years experience of online news or TV broadcast production. Four year college degree with course work/major emphasis on communications, Journalism, TV or Web production. Web or TV production experience prefer, or relevant experience as determined by HR. Ability to work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines with a positive attitude. Ability to multitask, communicate, and work well with others. Must be able to make timely decisions in the absence of direct supervision. Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to execute during breaking news situations. The producer role will be detail oriented with the ability to adapt to new technologies and procedures. Familiarity with the CNN production systems including Newstron, iNews, RACI, TRIAD, the MIRA library system and editorial content systems such as Mediasource. This position requires a flexible schedule and that will require weekends. Associate Producer-CNNgo (145253BR) Duties: The CNNgo Associate Producers will work directly with CNN shows, both live and taped programs, to maintain and update live, fast moving rundowns while simultaneously delivering appropriate extended digital content to compliment the linear broadcast on a segment level. The Associate Producer will be responsible for surfacing the best CNN content from various sources including but not limited to the CNN library, digital platforms and social media sites, while establishing and developing long-term repositories of high-value, long-shelf-life digital assets. The Associate Producer contributes to the creation and production of original and differentiating content, including but not limited to writing headlines and publishing content to CNN Digital platforms. Must understand the editorial direction of the CNN and CNN TV to help ensure that tactical and coverage decisions align with the overall goals of CNNgo. Maintain an accurate log of activity for each shift that allows for continuity of strategy and production decisions. The Associate Producer will coordinate with the CNNgo Senior Producer and Producers, to ensure that the CNNgo audiences are exposed to the best available content along the most-navigated digital pathways. This person will be responsible for other duties and projects assigned by management. Qualifications: 2 years experience working in a news production environment.
