COAST DAILY WEATHER REPORT: NWS SAYS MOSTLY SUNNY TODAY, WARMER WITH LOW SEAS (NOTE: Here are the conditions sent in the daily coast weather report by MSP to the CoCoRAHS Network - were station CA-MD-5 (in Elk). Theyre the conditions the previous day 8:00 am to 8:00 am today. H= 55.8F, L= 43.4F, NOW = 45.0F, RH 93%, Dew pt 41F, Wind: 1 mph from the NE, Ocean temp & Waves STILL not available, NOAA Buoy 46014 not off line. But the ocean temp was 53.6F in the Point Arena cove. Barometer 30.27inHg(R). The highest wind speed yesterday on shore on the Mendocino coast was 6 mph recorded @ 3:33 pm. 7:26 AM 5:05 PM 9:39:27 +0:50 Sunrise was 7:26 am, sunset is 5:05 pm. Length of day is 9 hours, 39 minutes, 27 seconds- 50 seconds longer than yesterday. The moon phase is FULL (100% illuminated). Nice sunset but we were next to San Francisco Bay - we HEARD there was a nice one on the Mendo coast. Were 3-for-4 in sunsets on the new year. We were 12-for-30 in sunsets for December - a lousy 40%. November 18/30 sunsets = 60% October 17/31 sunsets = 55% There have been 5 days so far this year, there are 360 days left. The tides today are: 6.13 HIGH tide @ 10:21 am and a MINUS 0.56 low tide @ 5:22 pm. The going out on a limb Intellicast forecast calls for: Sun and clouds mixed. Nice & clear & cool here south of Elk at 8:00 am today. The more accurate National Weather Service predicted: Today: Mostly sunny, with highs mainly in the upper 50s. East wind around 5 mph . Tonight: Partly cloudy, with lows near 40. East wind between 3 and 6 mph. Tuesday: Sunny, with highs around 60. Calm wind. Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with lows mainly in the lower 40s. NNE wind at 8 mph becoming east southeast. NWS EUREKA (OCEAN): The forecast in the coastal waters from Cape Mendocino to Point Arena out to 10 nautical miles (They use ALL CAPS): GENERALLY LOW SEAS & LIGHT WINDS WILL PERSIST FOR MUCH OF THE NEXT WEEK WITH A WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT IN PLACE OVER THE WATERS. A COLD FRONT WILL BRING MODERATE SOUTHERLIES MID TO LATE WEEK. Waves NW 4 at 15 seconds. SURFING CONDITIONS (From Swellinfo):Waist to chest-high WNW ground swell with occasional shoulder-high sets. Clean conditions in the morning with ESE winds less than 5 mph. Semi-glassy/semi-bumpy conditions for the afternoon with the winds shifting to the NNW.
