COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM WEDNESDAY THROUGH 4 PM THURSDAY AFTERNOON FOR THE SOUTHERN OREGON COAST FROM FLORENCE, OREGON TO THE CALIFORNIA / OREGON STATE LINE The National Weather Service office in Medford, Oregon has issued a Coastal Flood Warning due to flooding expected from sea water surges along beaches, low lying areas, and in harbor areas. Wind driven seas will be reaching 30 - 40 feet in height. Add in factors like high tide and waves could make significant runs up beaches reaching vulnerable low lying areas creating flooding. Areas at most risk will be the southern facing exposures. This includes Port Orford and Harbor near Brookings. Additionally, sections of Highway 101 along the Southern Oregon Coast could see areas become flooded making them hazardous to impassable.
