COCO’S participated in a festival last week called MI AMIGO DE LA CALLE (My Street friend), that offered informative talks, shows and with the goal of gathering 1 ton of food in donations (they got 1.5 tons!) that would be distributed between some of the dog rescues and the Municipal Animal Welfare Center (CEBIAM), we were there explaining the community about the work we do, our spay and neuter services, we were engraving id tags and also, this time with an amazing team of talented people we had the first presentation of a puppet show for the kids that taught them in a funny way about adequate guardianship and sterilization, we named it CUIDALOS (Take care of them). Our partners ViDAS were also mentioned during the play. It all ends with second chances . This is one of the many efforts we are building to do outreach in the community and help to prevent the abandonment cycle as well as promote a better care for the animals within Playa del Carmen. Coco’s participó la semana pasada en el evento MI AMIGO DE LA CALLE, en donde hubo pláticas informativas, espectáculos y donde teníamos como meta juntar 1 tonelada de alimento (se juntaron 1.5 toneladas) que sería distribuido entre un par de refugios para perros así como el Centro Municipal de Bienestar Animal (CEBIAM). Estuvimos ahí explicando a la comunidad acerca del trabajo que hacemos, nuestros servicios de esterilización, estuvimos grabando placas de identificación y en esta ocasión con la colaboración de un muy talentoso equipo, tuvimos nuestra primer presentación del teatro guiñol con la obra CUÍDALOS. Nuestros amigos de ViDAS son mencionados en la obra. Todo termina hablando de las segundas oportunidades. Este es uno de los muchos esfuerzos que estamos haciendo para llegar a la comunidad con información que prevenga el ciclo del abandono así como incitar al mejor cuidado de los animales en Playa del Carmen.
