The winter months are upon us and for anyone that runs into somebody on the streets that is homeless and doesnt know what to do they can have that person call Safe Harbor at 610-258-5540 and we will give them the information that they need for the appropriate referral if we dont have space. You can also tell them to go to Alliance Hall in Allentown, Lehigh County Conference of Churches operates a winter shelter that is open from November 1 through April 1, and there are no requirements to enter the facility. The shelter is for women, men, children, and families. If you have a client or homeless person that is from Bethlehem they can participate in the winter roving shelters that started four years ago in the Bethlehem churches. Today there are seven different churches for each day of the week with separate buildings for men and women for safety reasons, you can find a list of these locations and time of arrival at Safe Harbor and throughout the Lehigh Valley. Or you can call Safe Harbor for more information, Safe Harbor is a partner with both the Conference of Churches and Tom Walker and also with the roving winter shelters in Bethlehem. If you need any help accessing these services please call Safe Harbor at 610.258.5540 You can also pick up business cards at Safe Harbor to hand out to the homeless, with contact information on the cards for the homeless to use to gain shelter referrals or advice. When you enter the front door of our building you will find many business cards that you can take with you along with different referrals and services that are available.
