COJOINED TWINS ARRIVE AT KNH Conjoined twins from Kiirua Mission Hospital in Meru County have arrived at Kenyatta National Hospital for specialised treatment. The twins arrived at KNH on 5th September 2014 and were admitted in the Neonatal Specialized Ward. The conjoined twins who were born on 4th September 2014 have been examined and found to be stable. Physical examination shows that the twins are joined at the sacral region of the spinal cord. One of the twins has a fracture on her right lower limb ostensibly caused during delivery. Medical investigations have commenced to determine what the twins share in order to inform the clinical management of the babies. A team of medical specialists will be meeting on Monday 10th September, 2014 to review the babies and determine the way forward. The first born female babies were accompanied to KNH by Caroline Mukiri a 26 year old single mother. Miss Mukiri is optimistic to see her babies separated. It is our prayer that GOD intervenes and honour the prayers of the young mother.
