Alacare Home Health & Hospice reminds those who have elderly neighbors or family members to check on them at least twice a day in the morning, and the afternoon during bitter cold weather. Please make sure that the elderly have adequate food, medication, heat, and warm clothing. Older people have a slower metabolism, and are less active, and therefore they get cold more quickly, and are at risk of hypothermia. Alacare will continue to try and make all scheduled visits but may experience some delays due to the weather.
