COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Coaches Classic Most Outstanding Player Akeem Holmes had 15 points and 15 rebounds as Randolph-Macon knocked off Baruch College 80-65 to win their sixth straight game ahead of the meat of their Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) schedule. The Yellow Jackets, ranked 22nd in the nation in Division III, got 11 points from Chris Hamilton, 9 on three early three-pointers in the second half which took an eight-point halftime lead and extended it to 18. Randolph-Macon shot 76% from the free throw line, and after being outrebounded in the first half 23-21, they crashed the boards, taking a 26-10 rebounding advantage after intermission. The Yellow Jackets, now 9-2, host Bridgewater next Wednesday night, January 7th, at Crenshaw Gymnasium at 7pm.
