COLLINS ADMINISTRATION USES GAYECHUWAY TO ENDORSE YOUBOTY IN THE ABSENCE OF IECOM GUIDELINES Des Moines-The embattled Secretary General of the Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas is once more making headlines but always for the wrong reasons. At the just wrapped-up Konobo Statutory District Convention; GGF has learned that Gayechuway who was called to speak on behalf of the GGAA in the presence of his boss did the unthinkable. It all started when he was tapped to make a GGAA presentation on administrative progress. Within minutes of his presentation the entire audience begin to boo the Secretary General and shouted, this is not GGAA Convention, please wait for 2015 to do this because we want to dance. As if it was not enough, Gayechuway did the unthinkable by endorsing KDSA President James Youboty for the GGAA presidency in the absence of the elections commission guidelines. There are growing rumors that Youboty promised Collins that he will not prosecute no-one in his administration-if found guilty-for any financial improprieties under condition that he (Youboty) wins his endorsement. Some political observers believe that risking an entire section for political gain is a very risky and divisive move on the part of Youboty. Youboty is only president of our district organization and not president of my mind body and soul; therefore, he cannot tell me who to vote for. Why are they bringing politics at our convention when we only came out here to have fun? Opined one convention attendant. The move comes at a time when the Collins Administration has got its back on the ropes; from rampant financial improprieties to divisiveness. Its been over 5 months since Gayechuway received $20,000 to construct teachers quarters but since then, theres not a single trace of those funds. Its rumored that he gave only $4,500 out of the $5,000 for the 13 lifers in Monrovia Central Prison. Collins recent comments under a flyer uploaded on Youbotys page sparked a fury from members of Tchien & Gbarzon districts when he wrote, ...Konobo district is the most powerful district in Grand Gedeh County. This man who is supposed to be president of all Grand Gedeans didnt show up at our conventions but has the guts to lead a high-powered delegation at the Konobo District Convention. I think this is wrong and divisive, asserted one elder, adding Grand Gedeans still have not learn their lesson. Those on Collins delegation were his Vice President Edith Poah, Secretary Johnnie Gayechuway, Ways & Means Chairman Alex Yallah and few others who could not be identified by our correspondent. The chairman of the GGAA elections commission could not be reached for clarifications. In the absence of an official guideline it is not clear whether this could be seen as a flagrant intent on the part of the Collins Administration which continues to find its fulcrum.
