COLUMBIA — Second-seeded Maple Hill edged out No. 4 Rensselaer 4-3 to win the Section II, Class C/D varsity girls tennis championship on Thursday at Columbia High School, according to an email from MH coach Lucas Ashby. Singles players from each team travel to the Section II individual tournament next week at a time and location to be determined. Results (MH listed first): Courtney Unser lost to Sylvie Kimmel 0-6, 0-6; Kayley Fountain def. Alyssa Decker 6-2, 3-6, 6-2; Alex Stuto lost to Pwint Hnin 1-6, 1-6; Katlyn Fountain def. Autumn Shambeau 7-5, 6-0; Shelby Gipp def. Kthari Han 7-6 (7-5), 6-3; Doubles: Stef Wood/Kenzie Seymour def. Autumn Brown/Zo Ko 6-2, 6-0; Aleah Kavanagh/Katlyn Osterhoudt (REN) won by forfeit.
