COMBAT MISSIONS 2001: In honor of our armed forces, I created and exec produced this television series with my partner on the show, Mark Burnett; 15, 1 hr, episodes on USA network. The series was all about showing who our real American heroes are, the warriors of our tribe that protect us, secure our rights, liberty, freedom, and way of life. https://youtube/watch?v=KE8XZxNgwtA As a labor of love, I lived this show for over 3 yrs, spent time with navy seals, army rangers, green berets, delta, army recon, swat, cia, and secret service operatives, learning everything about this world and the unique qualities of each special forces branch. I traveled to many bases across the country; from Ft. Dix to Camp Pendleton, hired on some of the best advisors to educate me/us in swat law enforcement and military tactics so the series would be authentic. I helped cast and interview every SF member, secured our armory, designed our o-course, the base, the missions and training exercises. We created our field base in the Mojave desert and it was the real deal. Our cast lived there, showered in the outdoor stalls, dawn rucksack runs, workouts, training, and missions. They woke up to reveille and went to bed to taps, completely wiped out and depleted. It was also a hot set, meaning all crew must wear military camo gear at all times and we had a px to outfit everyone from crew to set guests. the cameras were always on and we needed to keep the authenticity of each shot. 125 days after we aired, 911 happened. Since my cast were non active at the time of the show, they could participate. They were actually all black ops operators, A-type personalities that would jump at the chance to use their million dollar skill set again and most were still kind of in and on call at any time. Most disappeared soon after 911, some back into their units, others became contactors for Blackwater and others. I got emails from the battlefield from a few SF friends in Afghanistan, etc. Scott Helvenston (RIP),a Navy SEAL and one of our cast members was one of the 3 contactors killed in the 2004 Fallujah ambush. Thanks to our vets for their service. The series is on youtube.
