COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET: The death of Robin Wiliams really hit - TopicsExpress

COMING OUT OF THE CLOSET: The death of Robin Wiliams really hit hard, especially when I heard it was suicide due to clinical depression. All I could say was But for the grace of God, go I. You see, I, too, suffer from clinical depression. It occurred after surgery to remove a brain tumor located right at that part of the brain that controls emotions. I would find myself crying for no reason at all and wanting to be alone. It became worse when I became menopausal. I grinned and faked it because I was told Christians dont suffer from depression. So I prayed and God answered by telling me to seek help. I finally gave up and told my doctor. She understood, explained what was happening and prescribed medication for me. She watched me closely, tweaked my prescription until she got it right. Im fine now, as happy as I can be, but it wasnt easy. Im glad I got the help I needed and encourage anybody else to do the same. I never got to the point of wanting to take my life but I had some dark days. You dont have to suffer. There is hope. My problem was a chemical imbalance stemming from surgery. Maybe yours is different. It doesnt matter; its not worth dying. Get the help you need and live happy. I hope Robin was saved and in the restful arms of Jesus right now. Christians are still human and have the same medical problems others have. Clinical depression is one of those illnesses. Dont allow ignorant people to cheat you out of the help you can so easily get. God bless!
