COMMERCIAL AWARENESS UK COMPETITION Aspiring Solicitors is excited to announce a unique UK wide inter-university commercial awareness competition. The competition will see students from universities across the UK go head-to-head in weekly commercial awareness challenges. Students will engage in the competition for approximately 30 minutes each week from 3rd November- 2nd December 2014. Teams will have a 2-6 members and can include students from law and non-law subjects and any year of study. Everyone involved in the competition will improve their commercial awareness which will be essential to securing a training contract or vacation scheme with a commercial law firm. The successful university finalists will attend a finals day at a Founder member firm and the winners will secure LEGAL WORK EXPERIENCE in the summer! How to set a team: Step 1- Form a team Appoint a captain who will co-ordinate and arrange the team meeting each week to participate in the competition. This will require the team to meet in person and receive a phone call from me at a set time for 30 minutes. The captain and team can be law or non-law and from any year group. The team must be made up of between 2-6 people and everyone must be an Aspiring Solicitors member (you can register completely free at aspiringsolicitors.co.uk/register/). Decide a team name! Please keep it original! Step 2- Provide team details When the team is formed, please ensure the Captain contacts usaspiringsolicitors@gmail to obtain an excel spreadsheet to be filled. Step 3- Await for the fixture list! All teams will be put into groups of universities who they will compete against in the first stage of the competition.
