COMMERCIAL LINES UNDERWRITER Michigan Millers Mutual Insurance Company has an outstanding career opportunity for a Commercial Lines Underwriter with 3+ years of technical underwriting experience. The qualified candidate will possess solid technical skills combined with outstanding communication and customer service skills. Completion of CPCU, AINS, or AU preferred. The Underwriter will be responsible for the following: • Work within a team environment supporting a specific agency territory. • Review applications, evaluate and interpret all pertinent underwriting information, establish appropriate pricing of risk and make underwriting decisions to accept, decline, or modify new, renewal, and endorsement business on behalf of Michigan Millers. • Receive agent calls, answer questions and resolve any service-related questions. • Travel with fellow team members and participate in agency relationship building, marketing and sales. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) or equivalent experience and/or training. • Completion of AINS and progress towards AU, CPCU, or similar designation and willingness to continue insurance education is preferred. • Strong written and verbal communications skills with excellent customer service and telephone etiquette required. • Must be detail oriented as well as possess strong problem solving, organizational and prioritizing skills. • Able to work effectively with others, as well as independently. • Strong computer skills required, which includes a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
