COMMON CORE INDOCTRINATION. Notice I didnt say education. This will be coming soon to NC. Do you see your childs classwork? Do you see your childs tests? Do you REALLY KNOW what they are being taught or the types of leading questions asked on tests? This is copied from Facebook page Parents and Educators Against Common Core: I just saw this posting that came out of the Badass Teachers Association (BATs) here on FB. Parents, this is happening with these tests. The proponents of CCSS are taking this very seriously. THIS IS NUTS!!! Are you in Pennsylvania? Is this going on in other states? Posted on BATs today, about the high stakes test. My children, 4th and 7th grades, just finished the reading and math portions of the PSSAS (Pennsylvania). They told me they had to fill in a bubble, agreeing to a code of conduct that included not taking photographs, not writing any questions or portions of questions down after the test, not looking up answers at home after the test, and not discussing the test with ANYONE. I was furious about this on so many levels. I have since explained that NO-ONE may ever tell them that they are not to share information with me. As many of you have stated, there is no way this would hold up in court, as they are minors and are not able to make such decisions for themselves. What I found incredibly disturbing was the rest of the statement, “anyone that violates the code of conduct will be fined no less than $750 and up to $30,000.00.(Yes, thirty thousand dollars). Our kids are being threatened. Many are not talking about the tests at home because they have been fearful to do so. So, they were being forced to do something, were forbidden to tell anyone, and were threatened with a serious consequence if they did talk. This is child abuse. ARE THE PEOPLE IN SURRY COUNTY GOING TO STAND FOR THIS? I just dont understand how parents & grandparents wont take a stand. They say this is so they can use the same tests year after year. I SAY it is because you would be FURIOUS if you knew what was being taught. Get on the Parents and Educators Against Common Core page. It is a page filled with these kind of examples in most states. Teachers you, most of all, need to at least read on this site. I understand you are afraid to stand up to Common Core in Surry County, it would mean your job but for the childrens sake at least read what is coming to your school, if it is not already here.
