COMMUNICATION! Used to be, when I called I knew where you were! Per standing there talking to me, talking to you, but no! That wasnt good enough, and some technological genius wished to complicate things, at least for me....at least the way I see it! Heres me still remaining in my own familiar territory, like my favorite easy chair in the living room, or even sitting in my bed, (at least places you could still picture me) and all so you would feel contented in receiving my call (all this, of course only going around in MY mind) But then, there is you, maybe somewhere in some cocktail restaurant, sitting at a table with a client, having a relaxing talk and far be it from me to interrupt you at work (or involved with work) OR driving in a wiz down a highway trying to reach an appointment (again for work) and hearing your phone ring and although knowing youre not suppose to answer while driving, still reaching for the damned thing... such a pain this communication thing. Something that use to begin with, Hi, how are you?...now becomes, Hi, Where are you? I liked it before when the phone always hung on the wall or sat on a desk and a person actually took the time to sit, dial, and wait for a few minutes in anticipation. One worries now, what one is interrupting and sometimes it is just as easy to leave a message and then when an answer pops up one knows the full attention was there, at least for a moment...now to call back or message back and wait again!
