COMMUNITY GARDEN OPENING IN MANDURAH JUNCTION Yesterday morning was the opening of the Mandurah Junction Community Garden which is situated on Sunday Loop in the new LandCop Mandurah Junction development. Aboriginal Elder, Frank Nannup, commenced proceeding with a ‘Welcome to Country’. The non-for-proft group Intework will manage the garden - Intework is committed teaching life skills and taking part in community activities. Local residents and school groups though, are all welcome to take part, making it a place for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together on a community-building project.. West Australian Horticulturalist Sabrina Hahn, who spoke at the opening, said community gardens had an important role in bring people together. The garden was designed to be functional and will eventually produce, fruits, vegetables and herbs.
