ITF’s Director’s Visit: The National Director of Skills and Apprenticeship along with his team, visited the Centre on October 21, 2014. During the visit, he confirmed a) EDEN-I as one of the Federal Government’s skills acquisition centers. b) Issuance of certificate: The Director stated that EDEN-I’s certificate will be jointly signed by ITF’s Director General and us. To this effect, we expect a certificate from the headquarters, Jos, which hopefully will be made available before our first graduation ceremony. c) ITF Training Manual: sample of an apprentice training manual/log book was given to the center to adopt and reproduce for immediate use by trainees. Plans are underway for the printing of about 250 copies. d) The center has also been approved for deployment of Youth Corps members for skills acquisition. However, all of these do not in any way translate to financial benefits from government. 4. Visit to the orphanage: on the 12th of this month, we and some of our trainees paid a visit to God’s Grace Orphanage, a few kilometers away from the center. The experience was glorious and quite memorable. The founder proposed to us the need for EDEN-I to assist in training the widows in her ministry, considering the fact that she is also a widow. 5. Income: We rely solely on money generated from the sales of registration, religious organization, and good spirited individuals. Please, let it be known that we have never received support from any government at any levels or international organizations. Your support in this regard will go a long way to meet some of our needs, therefore, giving more women the opportunity to be empowered through us. 6. Future plan: a) Free tuition – by the grace of God, in order to extend opportunity to many more underprivileged/unemployed women who are yearning for empowerment, we hope and pray to have another free tuition programme soonest.
