CONDITIONAL BLESSING Mahatma Buddha was bidding farewell to his disciples who were leaving the monastry to spread his teachings for the good and happiness of many. However they were apprehensive too, as they would have to face problems, oppositions and failures during such long a sojourn. Mahatma Buddha was fully alive to their apprehensions, he blessed them -but with some conditions in this manner,” As long as you exercise control over self, behave friendly with each other, share your food equally with each other and consider the welfare of public as the soul of religion, difficulties won’t be able to defeat you.” The disciples understood and they scattered in every nook and corner of the world and became successful in disseminating Buddha’s teachings and thereby reforming the society.
