CONDOLENCES TO THE FOLEY FAMILY: Major General (Retired) Thomas Carl Foley, 79, passed away on October 14, 2014 at his home after a brief illness. Major General Foley was the 33rd Chief of Armor from 1989 to 1992. He served as an Officer in the United States Army for 35 years and held a wide variety of command and operational assignments. Gen. Foley served two tours in the Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MAC-V). His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medals with V Device, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the Brazilian Pacificador Medal. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Gage Foley, two children, and four grandchildren.
