CONFRONT SIN WITH FORGIVENESS Galatians 6:1-2 -“Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Every relationship has the opportunity for forgiveness, generally on a daily basis because there is no such thing as a perfect relationship. Those perfect people do not exist on this earth. We cannot come to a confrontation about sin with the intent of punishing the sin or harming the person concerned because we are love’s products; love brought us into being. Therefore, we should let love lead. We must come to a confrontation about sin with an attitude of forgiveness, having sharp awareness that God has forgiven us for far more serious and consequential sin. It is the knowledge that you have sinned and been forgiven that creates a merciful and compassionate heart in us towards others. So, do not reject your neighbour because of their weakness or imperfection. Someone who may be a thorn in your flesh today may be your helper tomorrow. Do not let confrontation of sin tear your relationship down or pull you apart. Rather, see it as a means of coming together, growing together and being prepared together to accomplish your destiny. Let the past be past and your scars will turn to stars.
