CONGRATULATIONS JORDAN! The Executive Director of the JYIF Mr. Ali Haddad has been unanimously elected as a Board Member of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC). The ICYF-DC is the Youth Forum of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which is the second largest inter-governmental organization in the world covering 57 member states on 4 continents. Congratulations also to Ambassador Elshad Iskandarov for being unanimously elected as the new president of the ICYF-DC. The results of the elections were announced the Closing Ceremony of the General Assemble of ICYF-DC held on 11th of October in Ciragan Palace and honored by H.E. Iyad Ameen Al-Madani, the Secretary General of the OIC, H.E Akif Cagatay Kilic, the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey and international dignitaries. The closing ceremony was also welcomed key-note speech by Dr. Madani as well as congratulatory notes by H.E. ahmet Davutoglu, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey and H.E. Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Minister of Foreign affairs of the Republic of Turkey. 10 Goals for 10 Years : fighting extremism and Islamophobia; advancing entrepreneurial spirit of Muslim youth; and Africa are in focus Consolidating on the vision of Muslim youth for the future the Assembly also adopted Istanbul Youth Declaration under the title “10 GOALS for 10 YEARS” and announced Istanbul as the OIC Youth Capital for 2015-2016. The Declaration was signed by the guest dignitaries of the Assembly, is envisaged to be approved by the forthcoming OIC Foreign Affairs Ministerial and open for support by all governments, international institutions, civil society and youth leaders worldwide. The establishment of Islamic Conference Young Entrepreneurs Network (ICYEN) as an independent yet ICYF-DC affiliated body was another decision of the Istanbul Assembly to foster financial, educational networking and training support to young Muslim entrepreneurs. As a priority goals in line with ICYF-DC mission the General Assembly - adopted Action Plan laid down concrete projects to prevent deny violent radical movements to attract young people in search of revenge, status, identity and thrill; as well as to discourage the participation of young people in “takfiri” groups. As the special focus of the General Assembly was on Africa the delegates has approved “Face the global challenges” model project aimed at capacity building of the youth of the OIC LDCs and established a special Ad-hoc Committee on Africa. The Assembly has also has called on OIC to put the work of Ministerial Conferences on Youth and Sport on sustainable basis with a view of achieving coordinated youth policies in the OIC geography and approved “Model OIC” initiative to be replicated in universities across the OIC. #OICYouth2ndGA #JYIFactions #JYIFaroundtheworld #Proud #Jordan #Turkey
