CONGRATULATIONS MATTHIEU HANDFIELD!! Last night in Orlando, Florida on the stage of the Candance National Finals..... our very own Matthieu Handfield was named 1st runner up Mr. Teen Candance of North America!! This incredible achievement was a combination of his results in audition classes held over the past week and his performance at the National Title Solo Competition. In the Title competition Matthieu performed his tap solo “ Boyfriend” choreographed by Miss Abigail Roldan. He competed against Regional title holders and runners up from all over Canada and the USA and ultimately won the 1st runner up spot in the Teen Category! While in Orlando, Matthieu also competed at the Candance National competition with a contemporary solo choreographed by Miss Elise Rowan. For this solo he received a Platinum award-an amazing achievement for a solo that he learned and perfected in only 6weeks! Matthieu-we are so proud of all your achievements! You started out as a little guy in a beginner recreational jazz class and you have grown into a fantastic well rounded dancer who is really starting to shine at only 13yrs old. We can’t wait to watch you grow even more in the years to come!
