CONGRATULATIONS! The panel of JCI Senate Philippines and the Insular Life has just chosen Albay Governor Joey Sarte Salceda as Outstanding Filipino for 2014. The award truly belongs to the people of Albay on account of their unprecedented social cohesion which dismantled structural risks and bypassed dysfunctional political traditions towards the achievement of MDGs, climate change adaptation, environmental promotion, disaster risk reduction, universal health, higher ranking and participation in basic education and more college graduates, greater food self-sufficiency and tourism advancement. I thank God for guiding me, giving me friends and allies and granting me the strength of spirit and body in this journey towards a mission of better life for all. My special thanks to Luis Panares Bello and Zaldy Santillan and all those who worked on my credentials. TOFIL awardees 1988 TO 2014 1988 Edgardo B.
