CONGRATULATIONS to ALL Five Romans Recognized as Superstars of Service (many from Downtown Rome :) ) Five individuals from across multiple industries in Rome have been recognized by the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau for their outstanding customer service. Winners include: Sheila Murray of Hawthorn Suites, Ellie Mahon of Swift & Finch, Donna Brumbelow of Home Depot, Skip Fowler of Winthrop Court Senior Living and Advertising Dynamics Inc., and Jay Shell of 333 on Broad and Brewhouse. Superstars of Service are nominated by the public for outstanding customer service and chosen by the Board of Directors of the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau. Over 20 quality individuals have been nominated in 2013. "This award just made my day," said Brumbelow, also known as the "paint lady" at Home Depot. "I just smile and try to help people the best I can." Combined, the five winners of the awards tally over 50 years of excellent customer service, The Superstars of Service program was launched by the GRCVB in 2011 to recognize individuals in all areas of service who display exceptional customer relations and care. "The winners for 2013 represent the very top citizens of Rome who constantly make sure that our visitors and residents alike have a perfectly positive experience whether they are visiting at length or just passing through town," said Chris Cannon, GRCVB director of communications. The Superstar of Service award is presented to 5 employees working in Rome & Floyd County that demonstrate outstanding service to the public in any industry.
