CONGRESS IS FIGHTING THE ELECTIONS ON THE PLANK OF DEVELOPMENT: SHABIR CONGRESS SHALL CONVERT “PIR-PANJAL REGION” INTO A “MODEL REGION” OF THE STATE. Shabir Ahmed Khan Former Minister for Health and MLA Rajouri while continuing his campaign conducted a series of meeting at Behrote, Gurdan, Kheora and Keri in Rajouri Constituency. Addressing public gatherings at various places khan recalled the people that in order to bring prosperity, peace, brotherhood in the district in particular and state in general, Congress government took several steps to empower people politically and economically besides initiating measures to fulfill the demands of employees and unemployed. He reiterated that Congress gave a new paradigm of development to J&K from 2006-2008. Cautioning the people of Chenab Valley to stand united against the conspiracies being hatched by outside forces to divide them, Khan said Congress has given a sense of belonging and identity to the backward and neglected region of the State to bring them in front of all. He said that those who don’t want this region of Pir-Panjal range to flourish are plotting and conspiring against it by dividing the people on religious lines. Khan expressed anguish over the slogans being raised by the BJP, linking to Gujjar brothers just for their vested interests, he said BJP has learned to divide the people to grab power. Khan expressed hope and confidence that people will see through the motives of vested interests and will favour him in the Assembly elections to keep communal forces out of arena. Khan said if congress will come in power, Hill Development Council for Pir-Panjal region shall be first gift for the public of this region. Khan highlighted his achievements and said that he remained in touch with his constituency. Khan said that people must compare his tenure with anyone who is in fray. The development which Rajouri witnessed in just six years is over and above then the development of past 30 years. Khan said that he is having full faith in the wisdom and maturity of the people of Rajouri constituency, who will not let vested interests weaken their political strength & advantage gained after years of neglect & deprivation. He maintained that Congress is fighting the elections on the plank of development. Khan said that party workers must accelerate the process of canvassing up to grass root level to bring his party at the top. He assured the people that yet another united show will enable him to fulfill his dream of converting Pir-Panjal region into a “Model Region” of the State. Lambasting the divisive & polarizing forces for widening the gulf between the communities and regions, Khan said systematic and planned attempts by external forces have been made to disturb the atmosphere of peace & harmony in this region. He added that people of this region have the capability and knack to see through the real designs of such elements. Khan advised the people to reject the political parties which pit one community against other and said that politician/leader is one who can take along the people of all religions, races, cultures, regions and not the one who thrives on divisiveness and polarization. Pointing to the highest number of new administrative units created in Rajouri, khan said that its due to pressure and persuasion of Congress Party which made this possible and added that further he and his Party will continue to raise their voice for Chenab Valley with greater resolve and vigour in future also.Khan appealed the public to strengthen the party in the best interest of the people of the State and area in particular. Khan urged the youth to come forward to participate for the Cause of development. People are playing divisive politics and it’s the time to choose that Party which has the track record of initiating the developmental activities in this region. Khan was assured full support by the public of the areas and wished him Good luck for the coming assembly elections. All the sarpanches,Panchs and prominent persons of the area extended full support and assured MLA, his win in the coming assembly elections. Others who spoke on the occasion were Sain Abdul Rashid District President, Rashid Manhas, Haji Khadam Sarpanch Gurdan, Saleem Khan, Iftiqar Dar, Haji Farooq, Iftar Mughal and local leaders.
