CONSPIRACY AGAINST THE EGGON PEOPLE IN NASARAWA STATE Conspiracy against the Eggon in Nasarawa state is a fact that refused to see the light of the day. Eggon people of late have become so strong in terms of unity which sent fears to some of the political power drunk of the state. This is an ethnic group that is so hated not because of nothing other than their numerical strength, education, unity of purpose, hard working, they are also the determinant of political equation of Nasarawa state. Surface to know that the governor, traditional rulers , political big wings in the likes of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Dr Hassan Lawal, Senator Suleiman Adokwe and others not mentioned are all against the Eggon people in Nasarawa state. Attempts are being made to smear and rub shit on the bodies of political big wings of Eggon extraction. What ever that goes around must also come around. No matter how far the stone is throne up must surely come down. Senator Ewuga is accused of not visiting Alakyo instead waited for three weeks after the ill fated operation, the same source question Ewuga easy access to Baba Aakyo and claimed that the security personnel, traditional rulers including the aren Eggon couldn’t get access to Baba Alakyo. The same source accused Ewuga for not visiting Kwandere, Agyaragu and Asakio where scores of lives were lost during crisis and after. In the concluding part of it he said and I quotes:- Until Ewuga shed his ethnic toga and embrace other tribes in the state, his ambition to occupy shendam road government house will for ever be a mirage. This accusation is coming from Almustaha Hussaini. The question is: So Kwandere, Asakio and Agyaragu lost scores of lives and properties worth millions of naira and yet didn’t receive wider publicity. So he has forgotten the later crisis and the ongoing war in Rukubi, and the Agatu people in Benue state, and Doma local government and also part of Lafia. The later crisis and killings were carried out in 63 villages dominated by the Eggons , over 400 people sustained various degrees of injuries, 369 lives lost in the crisis with 2,232 houses burnt down to ashes. For Mustapher to mention only 3 villages shows his detest for Eggon. People. Who told him Ewuga did not visit those 3 villages, he did not only visit them but sent relief materials. Senator Suleiman Adokwe said and I quotes:-We have had persistent clashes between Fulani herdsmen and farmers. This one of Ombatse is a completely new phenomenon’s; it is not the type that we are used to. I n the earlier part of the interview he agreed and demands that the federal government should set up an independent judicial of enquiry to unravel the dramatic blood bath. In his later part of the interview he said and I quotes:- “If they sent 100 policemen and they were killed it shows that they need more than that number. I don’t know the magnitude of the crime that the police envisaged or the magnitude of the resistance they anticipated to have sent that kind of number but there were lots of claims here and there. The world and the people there in are too dynamic, dynamism has to do with change and change is the only permanent thing. When a particular ethnic group are being undermine since 1999 to date, subjected to all manners of attacks from various other ethnic groups initiated and ignited by the very leaders they elected, with scores of lives and properties lost in the process what do you expect? Of course they will have to learn the hard way of survival and self protection. Such protections is vital to their continue existence. Since the government is the very instrument and the fundamental of such hatred against the Eggons. How can a reasonable person suggest more police should be sent to go and die? The governor knew Eggon too well and he also knew their level of potency, he sent several groups of mercenaries and they brought back the results to him for assessment. He knew the police will not survive the operation; he just wanted to sacrifice the policemen to portray Eggon in bad light before the whole nation so as to win sympathy and given the nod to complete the war he initiated since Fulani and other traditionalist refused to continue the war. The meeting that was said all the Eggon prominent people refused to honor was just a meeting that never intended Eggon to be in attendance in the first place. Dr Hassan lawal said and I quotes:- “We cant continue the sessions in the presence of some young boys in our midst, most of those young boys are those leaking information to Ombatse militant . Of course the resultant of his comments disrupted the peace summit causing the venue to turn rowdy. A peace summit that should have been attended by factions concerned has turned out to be a secret meeting that Eggon shouldn’t know what is discussed. It is now clear that our political big wings were no properly invited or rather they were tricked as they did to Buhari when he went to attain former governors daughters wedding in Bauchi. Hassan Lawal is a man that is battling to clean up himself from corruption charges against him by EFCC. They meeting held by the Almakura and traditional rulers claimed that Ombatse attacked soldiers at Alagoni hill, near Nasarawa Eggon. That the two soldiers and sss operatives were shot by the group. This is pure misrepresentations of facts. The invasion of Ombatse place of worship by five trucks of soldiers on 17th Nov 2012 which Almakura denied knowledge of who sent them on such mission. This horrible misrepresentation of facts are not suppose to be told by noble men we hold them in high esteem and thought they will be the one to find solutions to our numerous problems,. That shows their level of involvement and interest in the whole crisis. Almakura thought he is smart by hurriedly constituted a judicial panel instead of the federal government independent judicial of enquiry. They verdict of the panel has been pre-determined by him and his co conspirators. This is a delicate time for Nasarawa state, delicate time for Nigeria and her democracy of blood letting, delicate time for the grass and the innocent souls that will go to the ground beyond. If Almakura decide to murder sleep in Nasarawa unabated the resultant effect cannot be measured. I urged my Eggon people to embrace peace by watching the whole events with kin interest for the gods are not blind.
