CONSTANTINE FOUNDER SEPPÄNEN AND THE REST OF THE BAND WALK - TopicsExpress

CONSTANTINE FOUNDER SEPPÄNEN AND THE REST OF THE BAND WALK SEPARATE WAYS Every now and then one has to make hard decisions in life. I have decided to move on from Constantine and form another version of the band, which will mainly play material from the first three demo albums. Furthermore, I of course have sued everyone involved and secured rights to play “Resign Due” in its entirety. And yes, I did compose “Silent Lucidity”. On my own. I guess one simply can’t leave a band like ours just by playing by the rules ;) But the time really has come for me to take another direction and for the rest of the band continue on the path they want to tread. There is no big drama or disagreements involved in this, just the fact that it became impossible for me to give 100% for the band, and I felt that it wasnt right because I had demanded it from everyone else throughout our history. As you can probably guess, a band of our size isn’t profitable so one has to have a job to get the rent, bills and all the costs that went into making “Resign Due” (and everything else we’ve done in the past) covered. Plus everything else. Add to that a family that’s the most important thing for me in this universe and bang - you got yourself a time issue. And time’s something you can’t just make up yet, you have to sacrifice something. This was definitely no easy decision, given that I was the one who formed the band pretty much 8 years ago and kept pushing it forward, even when it seemed that all odds were against us. But it was definitely the right decision, and now it’s time for other members to fill my boots (which they already have) and take the band to wherever they can. I want to thank Marko, Lassi, Antti and Janne for this incredible journey that we shared. It was a privilege to play with you guys! But now it’s time for me to look for new challenges, and currently my ambitions lie with video game and movie soundtracks – something completely new for me. We’ll see if that goes somewhere. But I’ll definitely keep on composing, that’s something one just can’t cease to do. The show at On The Rocks, Helsinki (Tuska Festival afterparty) will be the last time I take the stage with these guys. I, of course, would have wanted to do the UK tour after all these years, but unfortunately that was not possible. Most of all, I want to thank the people who have been with us on this journey – some from the very beginning, some from recent times – not because one just should say so, but because it meant really, really much to see that the music that we made mattered to you people. But yep, Geoff, await for my call, any day now. All the best, Janne S.
