CALL YOUR SENATORS TO STOP THE ROUNDUPS ... from Stacy Snow: In 2010 I moved to the Sheldon Wildlife Refuge in Nevada to work as a fire lookout for the summer. I lived on the refuge and hiked with my dog after work almost every day. One warm breezy evening we came across a herd of wild horses grazing peacefully alongside mule deer and pronghorn antelope. I will never forget that moment. The setting sun was coloring the sky a rosy pink. A perfectly tranquil quiet filled the air. The band stallion snorted and pranced and then moved his band a distance away. He watched me as I watched him. I could not stop watching. It was a dream come true indeed. I feel so incredibly lucky to have had the chance to spend time in the midst of the Sheldon wild horses that summer. Sadly, the herd will be completely removed from the refuge this summer. I just cannot imagine the landscape without them.
