CONTRIBUTIONISM: A World Without Money (summary & correction) -- Its NOT the love of money that causes problems, it is the PRESENCE of money that causes problems! Let each person contribute their natural talents or acquired skills to the greater benefit of all in the local community. -- Michael Tellinger In contemporary society, money has become holier that any religion. In times when everything is becoming a part of big corporations, a new political movement is also gaining force. It is called Contributionism. It strives for a world and system without money, where people contribute their time and skills for the greater benefit of everyone in the community. It might sound idealistic, but an increasing number of communities are transforming from systems of competition to systems of co-operation and unity. This inspirational talk about the elements and vision of Contributionism was given by Michael Tellinger during his visit to Slovenia in September 2014. DISCLAIMER: The original video was over-modulated (too loud) so we did our best to be sure that it did not blow out your speakers. So it might sound a little fuzzy to you. We also removed all the unnecessary pauses and stuttering to optimize the coherent presentation of information. ERRORS & MISTAKEN EXPLANATIONS ================================ PEOPLES BANKS: Michael Tellinger begins this original video by saying how money is the reason for slavery and in the 2nd half of the video CONTRADICTS himself by suggesting replacing Central Banks with Peoples Banks that offer people FREE loans! COMMUNISM: It is acknowledged that in the 2nd half of the original video some of the things that Michael Tellinger says sounds a LOT like Communism so even though he points out issues that are definitely NOT communistic (i.e. FORCED compliance) he seems to have wavered from the original intent of voluntary Contributionism and/or Voluntaryism by mentioning that people need to fulfill 3 hours of work in exchange for access to recycled garbage food. This MIGHT have been a reference to a SPECIFIC destitute community in South Africa that had a high AIDS epidemic. ERROR: In the 2nd half of the original video Michael Tellinger either misspoke or made the mistake of suggesting that people within a Community-of-Abundance can make available their goods and services for A FRACTION OF THE PRICE to outside communities after initially explaining that money causes slavery and the destruction of natural resources that support human life. So, this video emphasizes the fact a Community-of-Abundance is in fact a self-sustaining community EVEN THOUGH they can exchange products and services with outside communities.
