CONVERSATION AROUND WHERE WE ARE! Check out the post below about FORGET RESIGNATION. The poster is suggesting that government officials commit SUICIDE. Thats extreme. I think resignation is reasonable. Madam Sirleaf, your horrible leadership has true failed us in a very painful & humiliating way. When will you accept responsibility for this failure and resign. The essence of your resignation is not that things will all of a sudden get better but its a signal of change, a signal of hope, a signal that there is another way to do this and that Liberia can/will be successful again. I am totally befuddled that a couple of weeks ago Finance Minister Amara Konneh was talking about discussing economic recovery with people including Mills Jones. Really??? I would have loved to hear his input into the discussion. But on a serious note, to hear Sam Jackson parroting the same line is nauseating. These folks have failed the country! They have no idea of what it will take to even recover the economy to the dismal pre-Ebola status before contemplating full recovery. Their only panacea is AID & MORE AID! The international communitys continuous pitching of dollars to a broken and corrupt system will never cure it. MADAM SIRLEAF, I AM ON MY KNEES, NOT TO BOOTLICK OR KISS YOUR FEET OR YOUR RING. I AM ON MY NEEDS ASKING YOU, BEGGING YOU, HOLDING YOUR FOOT, TO PLEASE RESIGN & GIVE OUR COUNTRY A NEW LEASE ON EXISTENCE. THE MAGNITUDE OF YOUR SHOWSTOPPING & ROADBLOCKING TO DEVELOPMENT IS INCALCULABLE. YOUR ENTIRE STAFF AROUND YOU HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN YOUR ABILITY TO LEAD. THEY JUST CANT TELL YOU BECAUSE THEY ARE SYCOPHANTS. Please listen to me. Your time has long since passed you. Maybe your best years were spent fighting to overthrow other governments and you have no energy to manage your own. Thats very understandable. We just need you to recognize that and comply with our humble request for you to resign. Please I do not want you or any of your surbodinates/surrogates to commit suicide. There could be a place for you all in the NEW, BETTER, & ACCOUNTABLE Liberia. Just not in LEADERSHIP. Forget Resignation Today, 10:22 AM POSTER 1: After watching CNN last night and seeing naked people dying in ambulances or lying at the gate of the newly constructed treatment center, if I were in anyway connected to this government, I would have just committed suicide because there is no way I could face myself after this colossal failure. POSTER 2: have you heard of GOLs recovery plan? POSTER 3: Was heartwrenching to watch. .. POSTER 4: Catas, uve stayed too long in this country, your employer expects you to produce and you are held accountable for your action/inaction. Furthermore, u have some dignity and you police yourself. in Liberia no such thing exist; infact not doing your job and getting paid for it is something officials pride themselves on. YOU GET REWARDED FOR FAILURE POSTER 2: Ehn Wadi Powell group wah busy congratulating theirseh two weeks ago?....and Gyude Moore wah writin a daily blog on GOLs achievements? POSTER 4: BAH JACK those fools will say anything to keep eating/stealing. so so nonsense POSTER 5: what is disheartening is the folks that release this deadly virus and are sitting back grinning. you all are lost POSTER 1: What is the recovery plan? I want to laugh but it is too serious POSTER 2: Konneh is drafting it...and it calls for an initial funding of $200 million from the international community.... POSTER 6: But how he will ask for money before he does the plan? Only in Liberia, they want pay before work. SMH POSTER 1: The first thing that ran to my mind, is the president watching this? Is anyone accountable for anything in that country? POSTER 2: ...but let him call Mills Jones to release $200 million of the $350 million reserves Ellen put in the Central Bank...... POSTER 7: Gyude Moores answer to why ebola is in Monrovia and not in Conakry and Freetown is because Foya to Monrovia was easily accessible. POSTER 3: Can these guys just go away? Theyve been writing plans and strategy papers for the last ten years, and nothing to show for it.. POSTER 8: The woman is shameless!!! (IN RESPONSE TO Originally posted by catas: After watching CNN last night and seeing naked people dying in ambulances or lying at the gate of the newly constructed treatment center, if I were in anyway connected to this government, I would have just committed suicide because there is no way I could face myself after this colossal failure.) This stuff reads like a script but its real life folks. I wonder how many of these conversations are taking place around the world, especially in the offices of international partners? Liberians, we need to define our future. The people currently defining it are lost or refuse to see the way forward. This is NOT about Ebola. Its about everything else that has happened before Ebola that has now been laid bare for all to see. There will never be a BETTER & ACCOUNTABLE LIBERIA at this rate or projected trajectory. CAUTION: DONT WATCH IF YOU ARE EMPATHETIC OR SYMPATHETIC OR WEAK OF HEART. cnn/2014/09/23/world/africa/ebola-outbreak/index.html?hpt=hp_c2
