COOL STORY (read the whole thing): So I decided to have the hymn Rejoice, Ye Pure In Heart sung in our church this Sunday (Im preaching on Joy from James 1). I remembered the hymn text... but was a bit hazy on the tune. I looked for it on Youtube. The first video that came up in the search was from my home church (Coral Ridge Pres)... The video footage was from the service on March 6, 2006. ...and WHO do I just happen to see in this video (right around the 1:05 mark)? Why, none other than two of my best friends, Rogerio Luis Goellner and Matt Morris, singing next to my late mother. You see, March 6, 2006 was in the middle of Spring Break, our sophomore year in college. I had brought those two boys home to Florida with me. We ended up having Will Beers and Anna Sledge Beers take the three of us down to Key West, to celebrate my 21st birthday. That spring break trip is one of my fondest memories, because I had three of my closest friends all in the same place at once. The laughter and memories of that week often get me through times when I miss them all greatly (ones in Brasil, the other in Baltimore, the third in Charleston).
