COOPERATION TOURISM ACADEMY AND KLM ROYAL DUTCH AIRLINES BIG SUCCESS. Added on: 12-Dec-2014 | Last modified on: 12-Dec-2014 | Category: tourism | 1 comment On Thursday, December 4th, 10 students of the AfT minor E-Travel presented their final research results to four KLM representatives. All parties involved were very satisfied.KLM-Minor-E-Travel Initiated by aviation lecturer Erik Feld, and coordinated by e-business guru Gerard Gielen, 10 students of the minor E-Travel, Academy for Tourism started to work on a research project with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in September 2014. The aim was to provide the carrier with recommendations on how to improve the (online) experience for everyone who is booking and travelling with KLM. After four months of in-depth analyses and research, two visits at the KLM headquarter in Amstelveen and constant e-mail contact with the company, the group of students, several NHTV lecturers and four managers of KLM (of which Boris Graf studied NHTV) came together last week to listen to the final presentations. This was the first time E-Travel minor got to cooperate so closely with an internationally operating company like KLM. In the past summer, the research project was announced and all 4th-year e-Business students had the possibility to apply for this experiment. Ultimately, 10 motivated and ambitious students were chosen, who put a lot of effort and time into the research project ever since. At the end of this semester, NHTV and KLM can look back to a very successful cooperation. Not only was it an educational and instructional experience for the 10 students, but also for the managers of KLM, who got very interesting and helpful recommendations for improving their website and (online) services. To express their cordial thanks and utmost respect, the two most outstanding students of the group got offered a graduation internship in the IMO department of KLM, starting in January 2015. Therefore on behalf of the whole NHTV Academy for Tourism, we would like to thank KLM for this unforgettable opportunity and experience, and look forward to deepen this cooperation in the future.
