COP Local Government Campaign Launch Set for Friday Fight for Brighter Future Starts in Tunapuna PORT-OF-SPAIN – The Congress of the People (COP) announced that the much-anticipated launch of the party’s independent campaign for Local Government will officially begin this Friday at Constantine Park in Tunapuna. “We plan to share our vision for clean government and reform, and our record of responsibility, fairness and proven leadership on Friday night” said COP Political Leader Prakash Ramadhar. More than 50 COP candidates will be contesting for local government posts in five corporations – Port-of-Spain, Tunapuna, San Fernando, Arima and Diego Martin. “The era of party bosses telling people what to do and what to think must come to an end,” said Ramadhar. “This country deserves political leaders who talk less and listen more, so we can chart a course for Trinidad and Tobago hand-in-hand – together.” “It’s time to put the people of Trinidad and Tobago in the driver’s seat,” concluded Ramadhar. “And that is the message people will hear from the COP Friday night.” WHO: COP Leaders and Candidates for Local Office WHAT: Official COP Campaign Launch WHEN: Friday, October 4, 2013 @ 7:30 PM WHERE: Constantine Park, Tunapuna * Live event coverage of the event will be carried on CNMG, 90.5 FM, 91.1 FM*
