COPENHAGEN ZOO :-) So many bad comments about Copenhagen Zoo!!! Shame on you all for those negative comments… Copenhagen Zoo has been and is still a very respected Zoo internationally in the Zoo world, and this is amongst other things related to the openness they have always had, in relation to “killing” animals. Their policy for this is similar to most of all other zoos around the world – at least with the ones who doesn’t keep the killings a secret. I challenge reporters outside Denmark, to visit their local zoo, and ask them what they do with the animals, that they cannot keep and cannot replace to an environment which is acceptable for the animal health and well-being. I bet you that the do like in Copenhagen. The difference is that Copenhagen Zoo doesn’t keep it a secret like many other zoos apparently does. I hope that some “American” journalists/reporters will take up this challenge and ask a zoo in the US what they do! Or that DR or TV2 sends their reporter to visit zoos outside Denmark, in order to hear about their policy for animal’s they cannot keep or replace. What a bitty to see a Danish Hotel owner (Hellerup Parkhotel) selling out Danish values like openness in order for him to keep is American visitors!!! I still love Copenhagen Zoo, also because they are a part of an international network which ensures the correct handling of threatened animals in order to maintain a healthy group amongst those threatened species left to preserve.
