COPIED FROM ANOTHER LOCAL PAGE Attention.. Anyone going to the Park pub in Birkdale . Southport.. Merseyside. The car park is now Pay and Display.. £2 for 2 hours ... 2 hours maximum stay Thats not enough time to have a leisurely meal and drink.. what I dont understand is that the charges are for 24 hours/ 7 days a week. and its an £85 fine. .for over stay......... My sister and I went for lunch there today. I did get a refund of £2 off our food but I didnt know the time we had paid up to ...as I gave that in at the bar. . We were a bit worried that we would go overtime...so we didnt have another drink lemonade/ tea (Loss of income for the pub) so went out earlier than we needed too .. Its an £85 fine .... thats £ 85 .. So our outing was spoilt as we would have spent at least another hour chatting.. What on earth will people do if you are having a get- together for a few friends and you can now only park for 2 hours..and thats even at night.. ... I noticed that there are plenty of Posters giving the details.. but there is only one street lamp and one other lamp in the car park..they are not near the signs.. .. People will not see the signs in the dark and be fined.. Surely something can be done to allow longer FREE stay when you are visiting the pub....
