Doggy was right on his game, which prevented Mark from being on his. Playing good tight shots, and mixing them up with effective boasts was enough to beat Mark. Jane Bromwich (Rebels) def Chanelle Upton 1 Rubber 3 games 27 points to 9 points. Jane has a game that Chanelle, as hard as she tries , just can’t handle. That’s understandable because Jane’s a pretty handy player. Marg Gillick (Demons) def Rory Stones 1 Rubber 3 games 28 pointsa to 12 points. Marg got 28 points which means that Rory gave her a scare in one of the games. But being the cool squash player she, is she prevailed. It was a good effort by Rory to almost get a game. Jaguars V Swans. For various reasons there are still 2 games that still need to be played namely Graeme Leslie V Phil LeLieve and John Kostiw V Simon Pyle. Michelle Walsh (Jaguars) def Alan Glen (Filling in for Helen Fuge) 1 Rubber 3 games 27 points to 11 points. Alan is new to the game, and although he’s quick, he just couldn’t handle Michelle unorthodox but very effective game. Frank Fitzgerald (Swans) def Chris Reilly 1 Rubber 3 games 27 points to 13 points. Frank is a marvel, he’s almost 72 years old, and so far this season he’s undefeated. Graeme is the best number 1 in this competition, he’s quick, has good recovery shots, and has good shots of his own. Damien was always going to find it difficult to get a game , yet alone to beat him. Jane Bromwich (filling in for Jim McGrath) def Chanelle Upton 1 rubber 3 games 45 points to 24 points. Chanelle always gives it her, all but Jane’s dominance over her continues. Frank Fitzgerald (Wombats) def Michelle Walsh 1 Rubber 3 games 57 points to 1 game 43 points. Both players have a very similar game style, short front court dinky shots. The only shots that went to the back of the court were the serves. Luke Emonson (Wombats) def Donna Culhane 1 rubber 3 games 45 points to 41 points. All games were close but Luke got up in all 3 of them, but there were only 4 points in it. Audra Holden (Wombats) def Cameron Lambert 1 Rubber 3 games 45 points to 36 points. Cameron always tries really hard, but Audra had the better shots on the night. Her lob serves to Camo’s backhand were clear winners. Emus def Echidnas 5 Rubbers 15 games 306 points to 7 games 240 points. Chris Rubbechi (Emus) def Matt Davis 1 rubber 3 games 45 points to 15 points. Matt’s paying good squash but Chris’s game style ,where he cuts every thing off just didn’t suit Matt at all. He likes the ball to come back past the centre line. Chris game isn’t that. Mark Chappell (Emus) def Danny Green 1 Rubber 3 games 60 points to 1 game 44 points. Dann’y quick, but Mark’s quicker. His stoke technique has improved heaps. For Danny , who only plays once a week, this was a good effort. Zane Culhane (Emus) def Fiona Grigg 1 Rubber 3 games 59 points to 2 games 55 points. This was a very close match with only 4 points separating them in a 5 setter. This was a big improvement from Fiona who the last time they played only got 30 points. Stu Butler (Emus) def Damien Reidy 1 rubber 3 games 71 points to 2 games 62 points. Stu’s unbeaten run continues (just!) Both players gave it their all. Damien won the first 2 games , but Stu clawed his way back and ended winning in 5 . A great effort by both players. Jason Carol (filling in for Naomi Lambert ) def Audra Holden (filling in for Nichole Menz) 1 Rubber 3 games 71 points to 2 games 64 points. This was a great effort by Audra because she had already played earlier that night, whereas Jason hadn’t . They played out the most points of any match that night (135). Jason had beaten Audra 3/0 the week before. Kangaroos V Lions Rohan Sorensen (Kangaroos) def Dylan Leslie 1 Rubber 3 games 57 points to 1 game. Same result as in Rd 2 where Rohan also beat Dylan 3/1. Dylan’s hard hitting of the ball doesn’t phase Rohan at all, if anything it plays into his hands. Simon Pyle (Lions) def Gerard Bevan 1 Rubber 3 games 45 points to 33 points. Simon never looked like he was going to lose this match. Gerard is fit, runs well, but Simon had the better shots on the night. Alan Glen (filling in for an injured Jamie Warner ) def Chris Reilly 1 Rubber 3 games 60 point to 1 game 48 points. This was a good effort by Alan because he’s only new to the game and Chris has been around for quite a while now. Alan’s speed won it for him. Nichole Grigg (Kangaroos ) def Kelsey Pleming (filling in for Jason Kerr) 1 Rubber 3 games 45 points to 27 points. Nichole was just too quick for Kelsey. With Nichole’s speed, if she only hit the ball down the walls, rather than back to the middle of the court, she would win a lot more games.
