CORRECTING THE EVIL, KNOWN AS THE CENSUS FIGURES OF 1961 I have continue to watch with dismay as people continue to abuse Festus Odimegwu for having the boldness to faulted the credibility of past census figures? At the beginning this were the figures The Northern Region had a population of 29.7 million people. The Western Nigeria had 12.7 million people. The East had 12.4 million people while Lagos had 665,246 people, less than a million. The outrage that followed in the West, East and Lagos, was a clear indication, that the figures were manipulated in favour of the North. This can not continue. Something has to be done to correct this, if we must continue to remain as one country and one people. This are all part of our problems as a nation. I believe in one Nigeria, where equity and justice come to play.
