CORROSION SUPPORT TEAM-PAINTER Fort Polk (Louisiana) Department: Operations Job Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Amount of Travel Required: Travel may be required Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, As assigned POSITION SUMMARY This position provides services in support of the US Army’s Tank Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Corrosion Preventive and Control (CPAC) Program serving as a member of the Corrosion Support Team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Mix and apply various types and colors of paints to interior and exterior surfaces of equipment to include camouflage pattern painting and Chemical Agent Resistant Coating (CARC) 2. Coats surfaces of Military vehicles with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from vehicle, using liquid paint remover and scraper, smoothes surface with sandpaper and steel wool. 3. Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to surface, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted, paints vehicle or specified portion of vehicle and may paint insignia, letters or numerals on vehicle surface using stencils 4. Operate CST provided vehicle with tow trailer. Operate compressor and associated industrial paint and grinding equipment. ADDITIONAL DUTIES May be assigned as required MUST POSSESS: Valid state issued driver license Must be a United States Citizen Current NACI Investigation in order to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Read, write and speak the English language. Required Skills: The ideal candidates will have six-plus (6+) years of CARC preparation and paint experience on a variety of track and wheeled weapon systems. The candidates must be able to work with minimum supervision. Desired Skills: The candidates should also have experience and understanding of TACOM Corrosion Rating System; The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS); and related track and wheeled weapon system CARC paint system damage repair.
