CORTLAND CARE CENTER DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE Job Information Start Date: ASAP Salary: $20 K / DOE Location: New York-Syracuse-CORTLAND Complete preventative maintenance program on all equipment;Trouble shoot and repair all equipment, using outside contractors only with approval; Complete daily rounds and repair as needed; Complete all patching and painting in Facility; Complete special building projects; Assist with grounds maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal; Maintain accurate records of required safety drills; Participate in call rotation; Supervise and direct all Maintenance Technicians; Work closely with Administrator to ensure operation and function of building and grounds is efficient and effective for safety of all; Assist in coordination of service on all equipment utilizing contract service; Maintain Maintenance shop in a clean, safe and orderly manner; Work with other departments and supervisors to improve he quality of life for Residents. Skills - High School diploma or equivalent - Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting experience - Working knowledge of boilers, heaters, HVAC, cooling systems and plumbing - Ability to meet physical demands of position; standing, lifting [50 pounds], stairs and ladders - Knowledge of power and hand tools, basic carpentry, painting and tiling - valid NYS Drivers License Notes Assist with unloading trucks, moving furniture and equipment as needed; Unplug toilets, fix leaks in plumbing and other plumbing repairs; Observes rules of safety including complying with Safety Data Sheets[SDS] guidelines for chemical usage as well as required PPEs for same; Active member of the Quality Assurance and Safety Committees ;Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
