COSTUME AT THE TURN OF THE CENTURY 1990 - 2015 COSTUME DESIGNERS ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT WORK FOR THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION JUNE-JULY 2015 AT THE BAKHRUSHIN STATE CENTRAL MUSEUM IN MOSCOW, RUSSIA. SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY AIGIST 1, 2014 CURATORIAL VISION This exhibition is meant to review and share the variety of work in costume design from the period of 1990 to 2015. Our intent is to showcase the development of ideas, materials and technologies of costume design over the past twenty-five years from all over the world. Our expectation is to expand the horizons and inspire all the participants and attendees, as well as archive and preserve this historical material for future designers and the general public. We seek costume design projects in theatre, opera, dance, film, fashion design, performance art, etc. This will include costume renderings for a production or non-produced designs showing the art of costume design: production photos or artistic images of costumes in other settings, or short performance videos. A limited number of actual costumes will be displayed and student work will also be considered. There is no limit to the number of the participants at this exhibition. Selected designs will be featured at the Exhibit in June - July 2015 Moscow, Russia as printed pictures, some will be presented as a digital portfolio; most will be printed in the catalog. APPLICATIONS * Designers should submit to the regional curators up to 5 photos or renderings or both, from the same show, a total of 3 productions over the past 25 years. * Designers should submit photographs of the actual costumes they wish to include in the showcase at the exhibition. * Designers may submit designs for a never produced play, but represents unique/original concepts. * Regional Curators are encouraged to submit their own designs and participate in the exhibition. PLEASE SUBMIT LOW-RESOLUTION IMAGES OF DESIGNS TO YOUR ASSIGNED REGIONAL CURATOR BY THE AUGUST 1 OF 2014, AND INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION 1.Name of the show and the names of the character(s) and actor(s) shown 2. Time and place of production 3. Name of the director/choreographer 4. Name of the other designers 5. Name of the photographer if applicable 6. If you will be sending the costumes or renderings via the mail, you must purchase your own insurance. The museum will not be liable for any lost property outside the museum.
