COULD YOU WORK AT THE SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT? Fiona McLeod MSP (SNP Strathkelvin & Bearsden) is encouraging local young people to consider a career at the Scottish Parliament. There are 20 new apprenticeship positions opening up within the Parliament in Edinburgh which offer exciting training and experience which will open up a whole new career to 16-24 year olds. If you would like to know more or how to apply the details can found at scottish.parliament.uk/apprenticeships Fiona said: ‘The Scottish Parliament is a vibrant and innovative work place and these apprenticeship places would be a great opportunity which I would love local young people to apply for. You have to be aged between 16 and 24 and while there is an Open Day that you can go along and ask questions on Friday 21st November, the website does answer almost any question you could ask. The closing date for applications is Sunday 7th December and any eligible young person can apply for the first intake of apprenticeships to start next year and last for 24months. Don’t worry about travelling to Edinburgh, as there is a scheme to help you with your travel costs. I would love to see some of our ambitious young people apply for these positions as I see them as a first class stepping stone to an excellent career.’ (GR)
