COUNCIL 81 UPDATE EVERYDAY HEROES You definitely “Make Delaware Happen”! To All AFSCME Council 81 Local Presidents, Staff Representatives, Executive Board and Blog Lists: I received this email from LU 879 Vice-President, soon to be on staff at Council 81, Michael Burns: Good afternoon, I do not know if you know about the event that took place in the parking lot next door to Council 81 yesterday. Around 430ish pm a gentleman fell to the ground walking into the print shop he had fainted and hit his head on the ground. Your employees (my soon to be coworkers) Angela LaManna and Denise L’Italien sprung into action. While Angela called 911, Denise ran to this man’s aid who she doesn’t know from Adam. She comforted this man and kept him stable as he started to awake she talked to him to ensure him help was on the way . They say when bad things happen, look for the heroes. In my opinion these two ladies were the heroes. You guys always are posting how the members make a difference and do good deeds, well here is staff doing great positive things. IF something like that was to ever happen to myself, friends or family I can only hope there are people around like them to help . Michael Burns V.P.
