COUNT-DOWN TO FEBRUARY 14TH PRESIDENTIAL VOTE (31 DAYS TO GO): ISSUES AT STAKE (1): BUHARIS FANATICAL SUPPORT FOR HIS FULANI KINSMEN AND HIS DEAFENING SILENCE IN THE FACE OF THEIR WANTON KILLINGS AND DESTRUCTION ACROSS NORTH-CENTRAL NIGERIA. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is has shown a tendency in the past not to tolerate any act of aggression against his Fulani kinsmen. There was an instance in one of the South-Western states when the man personally led a delegation of Fulani men to the Govt. House to confront the state governor over loss of some Fulani lives during an unrest. However, this same Buhari has remained ominously silent over the ongoing armed invasion of some North-Central states by heavily armed Fulani militia, including Benue State. These attacks have resulted in the killings of large populations of farmers and their displacement from their lands, which are in many areas now under the occupation of the Fulani and their cattle. Yet, Buhari is a former head of state, and by such status, should be seen to be detribalised and concerned about the plight of all Nigerians, not just his Fulani kinsmen. WHY HAS BUHARI KEPT SILENT OVER FULANI ATROCITIES AGAINST THE FARMING POPULATIONS OF NORTH-CENTRAL NIGERIA? WHY THEN SHOULD NORTH-CENTRAL PEOPLE TRUST BUHARI WITH THEIR MANDATE?
